No Ghanaian team can Replicate what Hearts and Kotoko did in African – Kudjoe Fianoo

Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) president Kudjoe Fianoo has lamented the absence of local-based players in the Black Stars squad named by coach Chris Hughton ahead of Ghana’s clash against Madagascar.

For the second time in a row, all players named in the Ghana squad were foreign-based despite the technical team’s initiative of monitoring players on the local scene.

Kudjoe Fianoo who plays a big role in the development of Ghana football expressed his dissatisfaction over the new development citing the lack of quality players in the various local teams.

According to him, there has been a decline in Ghana football which is evident in the clubs’ campaign in African inter-club competitions.

“It[the absence of local players in the Black Stars] is a real concern. That is why we will also say that football is not a parliament where every constituency has a representative. A place is earned through hard work.

“We say this and laugh but it is something that is very serious,” Fianoo told Happy FM as quoted by Footballghana.

“Now we are waiting to congratulate someone for winning the league after winning the league what next. The team will be going to Africa tell me that Ghana has a team that can go to Africa to replicate what Hearts and Kotoko did in the past. So it is a true reflection of what is happening,” he added.
