Two popular Ghanaian actors to battle for NDC’s Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary slot

The NDC’s Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary candidature is set to be a battle between two actors, John Dumelo and Fred Nuamah.

Frederick Kwaku Nuamah, known as Kwaku Nuamah, has declared his intention of leading the National Democratic Congress in the 2024 parliamentary race to wrestle the seat from the incumbent NPP MP, Lydia Seyram.

Though Mr. John Dumelo, who contested for the opposition party in 2020, has yet to declare his intention, he was heard saying publicly on the 2022 VGMA platform that he will win the next election.

The opposition party will hold its presidential and parliamentary primaries on May 13, 2023.

Fred Nuamah, born Frederick Kwaku Nuamah, is a Ghanaian actor, film director and producer best known for his role in the movie “The Game.”

He is the founder and CEO of the Ghana Movie Awards and Ghana TV Series Awards, an annual award show that recognises excellence in the Ghanaian film industry.

He rose to prominence after he starred in the 1993 movie “Matters of the Heart.”

He went on to play supporting roles in films including “The Prince’s Bride, Heart of Men, Material Girl, and 4 Play.”

In 2010, Nuamah appeared in “The Game,” directed by Abdul Salam Mumuni.

Nuamah played a role in Amakye and Dede, which premiered at the Silverbird Cinemas in Accra on March 26, 2016.
